Lyrics

Bad Jimmy

Jimmy was bad oh he was mean
But still he was all the kids’ hero
Cause he did what he wanted and slept where he would
Oh that sounds good
Nobody talked when he rode into town
Though nobody wanted him hangin’ around
Nobody breathed
Oh that sounds good

But the sheriff’s a man as brave as they come
He walks down the street never carries a gun
As he rolls up a smoke in the hot western sun
Oh that sounds good
He walked in the barroom and spit on the floor
Stared right at Jimmy and showed him the door
Yeah he told him to leave
Oh that sounds good

Jimmy looked at the sheriff and started to laugh
Went straight for his bottle and filled up his glass
Turned around hit the sheriff knocked him right on his ass
Oh that sounds good
Well he kicked the poor sheriff and said “this ain’t no fun
Run back to the jailhouse and pick up your gun
So I can shoot you down in the hot western sun”
Oh that sounds good

The sheriff just sat there a tear in his eye
Cause he knew if he drew him he surely would die
But the sheriff was crafty the sheriff was sly
Oh that sounds good
All right you can stay have a drink sheriff said
Then he grabbed the whiskey bottle hit Jimmy over the head
Jimmy dropped like a stone he was instantly dead
Oh ….

That whiskey will kill ya sheriff said with a sigh
As they rolled Jimmy over and dragged him outside
Laid him to rest threw some dirt in his eyes
Oh that sounds good
Jimmy was bad oh he was mean
But still he was all the kids’ hero
Cause he did what he wanted and slept where he would
Oh that sounds good
